A Brag for the Blog

Woah! What in the world? Who is that and what is she doing!?

No proper blog is complete without regular brags, and so, a new section for this blog:
Encomia: Tributes to the Amazing People in our Lives!

BRYNN!

Last Friday we met a guy who was a fellow missionary with Brynn in Ireland and was her district leader for a while. He said, "I don't know if Brynn has told you this--probably not--but she was the best missionary in our whole mission!" Apparently her mission president said pretty much the same thing. Shocker? I don't think so. We already knew she was amazing. It is just fun to hear other people say so too!

Lou told me a while ago that she was jealous that we lived so close to Brynn and got to hang out with her all the time and get to know her. Lucky us!

Best of all, Brynn married our fabulous brother and made him one of the happiest guys ever.

Finished Remodel Projects

-Washed smoke damage off all walls and ceilings to make house livable. Started painting ceilings, door trim, etc...
-Replaced front door, side door, basement door, sliding glass door (had to cut into header on every one.. which sucked).
-Ripped out wall & pocket door between dining room and entry to expand dining room.
-Ripped out tile in entry area.
-Ripped out an opening between kitchen and living rooms for better access.
-Ripped out/replaced water damaged drywall in hallway and around skylight in bathroom.
-Replaced all windows in house with energy star vinyl windows.
-Replaced all blinds with nice ones.
-Put in automatic sprinkler system.
-Ripped out nook and window well at side of yard, smoothed grade, ripped out all cement/rock walls.
-Moved a serious pile of boulders stacked all along the back of the house and used it in fill on side of house.
-Planted 11 new trees in front and back yard, bushes and planted new grass in front and back yards.
-Made a garden area in backyard, planted garden that won't grow.
-Replaced light fixtures in kitchen, dining, and put ceiling fans/lights in living and all upstairs bedrooms. Also put in new porch light.
-Replaced all electrical outlets, switches and covers upstairs, & redid some wiring.
-Replaced all the interior doors, with white 2 panels, switched out all knobs and hardware.
-Blew in 14 bags of cellulose insulation into attic.
-Fixed water softener.... 18 times and counting. Ahhhhh!

-Replaced upstairs bathroom lights, mirrors, fixtures and hardware.
-Built closet in basement room, framed walls, put up drywall, put in outlet.
-Built new wall w/door in laundry room to expand downstairs bathroom.
-Moved door into laundry room to the bottom of the stairs (had to sledge through cement stem wall which was a pain).
-Framed and dry walled back wall in laundry/storage, built custom shelf against new wall.
-Ripped out nasty ceiling in basement, prepping it to drywall.
